In Search of… Jelani Rice

In Search of... Jelani Rice is the first photobook by renowned US photographer Jelani Rice, who specializes in portraiture, fashion, lifestyle, and documentary photography. The present collection includes a selection of private and professional portraits, all taken in the last five years. In his work, Rice explores the possibilities film photography has to offer, using a medium format camera for the most part. What sets his portraits of personalities such as Spike Lee, Chelsea Manning, and Matthew Perry apart is the intensely vibrant colors, which are characteristic of his unique artistic style.
